The National College of Holistic Medicine was founded in 1992 as an accrediting body for natural health courses and as an umbrella organisation for practicing natural health therapists. 

Accreditation by The National College of Holistic Medicine (NCHM) is a guarantee of quality. This means that the learning programme of the specific training establishment has been evaluated and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals. In this way we are able to maintain the very highest therapy standards for the benefit of both the practitioners and their patients.

Students successfully completing NCHM accredited courses receive recognised Diplomas which entitle them to practice as therapists. 

We are also here to help the students of various different Natural Health Subjects get into practice once they have passed their final exams. It was felt that they needed such an umbrella organisation to shelter under. 

We are here to guide and help our members with their careers. We found that belonging to a group where ideas could be exchanged, discussed and generally chewed over was extremely helpful.  

Although our members come from several different disciplines, this was found to be a blessing, as we all had similar problems. We are able to bring together, many different people with a very wide range of different experiences. In this way we can all learn from each other.

As a self employed therapist, you are very much on your own, often working from home or in a single unit where you do not get the chance for discussion. Through the NCHM, we are able to exchange and share knowledge and talk things over with colleagues. It just seems to make life that little bit more interesting and exciting.

With the constant growth in our membership, we are now planning to have a fairly regular Newsletter via the Internet as well as an Open Forum for further discussion and debate. So when you become a Member of the N.C.H.M. we will appreciate any input that you are able offer.

Fees: Full Annual Membership costs just £50:00.

It is essential for ALL practicing therapists to carry adequate insurance to cover themselves in case things go wrong. This is a legal requirement in most countries. We can help all our U.K. members with this.

The N.C.H.M. is a non-profit-making organization run by a members committee.
